The eighth annual National Hyundai Air and Sea Show took place this past weekend in Miami Beach. All of the armed forces and service men, along with first responders, were present at the event and honored for their service to the country.
“If it was not for the soldiers that have sacrificed themselves for this country as myself and a bunch of my friends that were lost in combat,” said Sgt. First Class Elvin Santiago. “I think that that is the most important thing about Memorial Day. I think everyone should take time to say thanks to these soldiers. I have lots of friends that I have lost in battle so I really want everyone to appreciate everything that we have done for this country.”
This event featured an offshore powerboat racing exhibition, extreme water sports, Nicklaus Children’s Hospital Kids Zone and more.

Daniela Zulueta is pursuing her master’s degree in global strategic communications and graduated from FIU with a bachelor’s degree in digital broadcasting in 2023. She also holds an associate’s degree in journalism from Miami Dade College. Zulueta loves the city of Miami and aims to share the stories of the citizens who live here and all over the world. Zulueta runs a social media platform called @Lifestyle_Miami where she works with local businesses and does community-based work. She had a paid internship with Televisa Univisión as a Step Producer and worked as a stage manager at NBC6 South Florida & Telemundo51. Now, she is part of cohort 8 and has a fellowship at the FIU Ratcliffe where she can work on branding herself and post-production of a podcast called Tech Conversations.
Dennisse Diaz is a senior majoring in Digital Broadcasting Media and minoring in entrepreneurship. She is originally from Venezuela. Since her arrival to the United States in 2017, she has never stopped pursuing her dreams of becoming a news anchor, correspondent, or investigative reporter. She is passionate about traveling, photography, culture, responsible knowledge, marketing, and content creation.
