Formula 1 fans in Miami packed Wynwood’s Grails Sports Bar this weekend to watch the U.S. Grand Prix live from Austin, Texas’s Circuit of the Americas. It was a rare chance for fans to watch the race in real time without early alarms, as most F1 events take place overseas.
“Unfortunately, F1 in our time zone is usually earlier, so we are normally watching them at home,” said Formula 1 fan Laura Silva. “So when I notice that there is one in the afternoon, I’m like okay let’s find a place to watch it with other F1 fans.”
With only three races held in the U.S. each season, local fans are embraced the chance to experience the sport during normal hours.
Dutch driver Max Verstappen took the victory. It was his fifth championship.
