Colorful hot air balloons will light up the sky at Tamiami Park on Friday, Feb. 20, and Saturday, Feb. 21, as the Miami Hot Air Balloon Festival returns for its second year, offering families an evening of glowing displays, live entertainment and a bucket-list experience.
“The festival is for all ages,” said Executive Director Jeremy Kwaterski. “From little kids to grandma and grandpa.”
The festival opens at 5 p.m. both nights, with balloon setup beginning around 6:30 p.m. Guests can enjoy food vendors, music and activities before the nighttime balloon glow and laser show at 9 P.M.
One of the main attractions is the $35 tethered hot air balloon ride, which allows visitors to rise above the park for several minutes and see the surrounding area.
“The tethered ride lasts about seven to nine minutes total – plenty of time for pictures and the view,” said Kwaterski.
He says the park’s open layout helps families feel comfortable while enjoying the event.
Admission is $20 for adults and $10 for children.
