One of the University of Miami’s most beloved traditions — the Sports Hall of Fame Celebrity Golf Tournament — will take place on Thursday, Oct. 16. The 33rd annual event will tee off at the historic Biltmore Golf Course in Coral Gables, bringing together Hurricanes from every generation.
Each year, the tournament features between 15 and 25 members of the Canes hall-of-fame along with a sold-out field of 36 foursomes. The day includes a putting contest, auctions, prizes and a post-tournament awards reception. Proceeds from the event help keep the University of Miami Sports Hall of Fame & Museum running.
“It’s kinda like a family reunion,” said executive director John Routh. “We all get together and have fun and raise funds for the Hall of Fame and other charities.”
The tournament not only celebrates the past but also inspires future generations of Hurricanes. With former athletes, fans and community members coming together, the event reflects a lasting bond that extends far beyond the greens.
