The Miami Marlins prepare for their new season (includes video story)

On Saturday, Feb. 7, more than 20,000 people attended the annual Miami Marlins FanFest at LoanDepot Park.

The event had amenities for every family, including interactive games, animal shows, live music, player meet-and-greets, and even a photo-op with the team’s mascot.

Although not all attendees were baseball fans, many took the opportunity to learn more about the sport with their children. For Yelenis Labrada, it was her first time attending the festival. “My child’s school recommended it through the app, so we came,” she said.

During the event, the Miami Marlins also announced the return of the iconic teal color to their uniforms. The day ended with a spectacular firework show which lit up the stadium, closing out an afternoon of unforgettable fun.
