Miami Swim Week 2021 captivated audiences

Miami is one of the best cities for tourists to experience cultural and exotic activities. This past weekend, some of the most recognized Miami Beach hotels hosted Miami Swim Week shows. The four-day SwimShow event promoted designer swimwear from local and national designers.

From July 8 to 11 the SLS South Beach brand activations and programs also took place at various locations like Casa Faena, The Plymouth Hotel, Villa Contenta, Paraiso Tent, Soho Beach House, Axel Hotel, Hyde Beach and Istituto Marangoni.

One of the brands at the shows was Lia Sahara Swimwear by Camilla Polhengi. It commits to producing Italian-made pieces of 100% recycled fabrics that customers can design.

Another brand that captivated the audience was Acqua de Luxe Beachwear. It was created by a Brazilian woman whose mission is to empower women to feel self-confident by offering hand-crafted swimsuits with a unique design.

Along with the swimsuit pieces, the models wore jewelry and other accessories by the local brand Splash. The company started its journey over 25 years ago with a jewelry store on Miracle Mile in Coral Gables. Its niche is a combination of delicate, authentic materials inspired by flowing seascapes and beachside culture.

Aside from the runway presentations, attendees were treated to art activations by curators such as Tom Franco, representing a California-based collaborative art collective. “My artwork is made up of 80 percent found materials,” Franco said. He and his team are multi-media live performers recognized for their vivid colors, cosmic comedy and communal vibes.
