Missing Miami cat found in Kansas City (includes video story)

A cat missing from Miami was found Saturday in Kansas City.

Residents called the Prairie Village Animal Control Unit because they were concerned about the cat being outside in the cold. When they scanned the microchip, it was tracked to an owner in Miami.

Two years ago the Miami owner filed a police report with the belief that his cat, Lucky, was stolen.

Captain Ivan Washington of the Prairie Village Police Department said he had never heard of anything like this before. The police department will provide services to Lucky until his family can make a plan to get him back to Miami.
