NASCAR Cup Series Race takes over Homestead-Miami Speedway (includes video story)

NASCAR’s Cup Series Race roared into Homestead-Miami Speedway on Saturday and Sunday for two days of action. This is almost the third-from-last competition of the season and the second in the round of eight.

Grant Enfinger took the win in the Craftsman Truck Series event Saturday afternoon after a blunder by Corey Heim, who mostly led.

“I’ve never really gotten emotional after winning a race,” said Xfinity Series winner Austin Hill. “It got to me pretty good. As soon as we crossed the start and finish line towards the checkered flag, I kind of broke down pretty good.”

While the win isn’t Hill’s first in the Xfinity Series, it is his first shot at a championship.

Sunday saw the superstars of the NASCAR Cup Series take center stage as Tyler Reddick started in the lead. Chase Elliot and Denny Hamlin also took the front spot at different times. The event featured a track record 36 lead changes and over 6,000 passes under the green flag.

In the end, Reddick managed two crucial passes in the final two corners of the last lap, locking himself in to the Phoenix’s Cup Series Championship on Nov. 10.

NASCAR will return to Homestead-Miami Speedway the weekend of March 21, 2025 for a regular season slot.
