People screamed in fear as gunshots sounded at former President Donald Trump’s campaign rally this past Saturday afternoon in Butler, Pennsylvania. During the assassination attempt, a bullet grazed the side of Trump’s face and hit his right ear, leaving a trail of blood.
Firefighter Corey Comperatore sadly passed away while hovering over his family to protect them from the gunshots. Two other spectators were critically injured.
Officials identified the shooter as 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks, who was killed during the attack. He was a kitchen worker from Bethel Park, Pennsylvania. Records show that he was a registered Republican and was described by his former classmates as a loner who was bullied.
Thomas fired his semi-automatic AR-15 rifle from the rooftop of a building next to the rally.
Officials have so far found no manifesto or deliberate plan. They continue to investigate possible motives.
