Pick your app, pay your way (includes video story)

Paying for parking in Miami has always had its share of headaches, but that soon may be a thing of the past.

In a recent update from the Miami Parking Authority, the ParkMobile app is now a new addition to regular payment methods, giving people more choice when it comes to paying. Best of all, ParkMobile and PayByPhone, a similar parking payment service launched in Miami over a decade ago, will now share the same location numbers, making it easier for users.

“We use the app anytime we have to go to the dog park, like right now, my dog is here,” said Jack, a Miami resident who says the app has signifcantly simplified his daily routine.

To better understand the update, we reached out to Alejandra Argudin, CEO of the parking authority.

“I say, ‘Two apps, your choice’ because ParkMobile and PayByPhone will offer drivers an additional payment option while simultaneously reminding current and new Miami residents about MPA’s legacy Resident Discount Program, with appreciation for the community we serve.” Argudin said.

Argudin emphasizes that the change isn’t just about giving drivers more options, but also continuing to serve Magic City residents.
