Philip and Patricia Frost Museum of Science

Located in Downtown Miami’s Museum Park, the Phillip and Patricia Frost Museum of Science is both an architectural gem and an educational wonder. It is one of the few museums in the world to feature an aquarium, planetarium and science gallery under one roof.
This summer, the museum will present several exciting events. nightLAB: Beyond the Algorithm will be held on July 17 from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m., featuring food, an AI-focused exhibit and live performances. In addition, the museum will host a summer camp from July 7 to 11 with a Voyage to Space theme designed to inspire young explorers.Admission fee can be waived through Miami-Dade Library’s Museum Pass Program.

Dogs & Cats Walkway and Sculpture Gardens

Maurice A. Ferré Park, the Dogs & Cats Walkway and Sculpture Gardens is an outdoor art installation featuring 52 oversized aluminum sculptures of cats and dogs, each painted by a local Miami artist. It’s a colorful addition to the waterfront park and a popular spot for photos, sketching and relaxed strolls. In addition to the permanent sculpture display, the park also offers free yoga classes on Mondays and Thursdays at 6 p.m., blending public art with community wellness.

Patricia & Phillip Frost Art Museum – FIU

The Patricia & Phillip Frost Art Museum is a contemporary art museum that highlights global and regional artists, with a strong emphasis on Latin American and Caribbean art. Books & Books is a beloved independent bookstore and cultural landmark in Coral Gables. Known for its rich literary programming, inviting courtyard café, and deep ties to Miami’s creative community, it’s a gathering place for writers, readers, and artists alike. Upcoming events include An Evening with Asha Elias on July 1 at 7 p.m., where the debut author will discuss her new novel. On July 25 at 7 p.m., An Evening with Ivonne Lamazares will feature the Cuban-American author exploring identity and migration in her work. Additionally, Palms & Poetry – Open Mic on June 16 at 8 p.m. offers local poets and spoken word artists the opportunity to share their voices.

The Wolfsonian – FIU

Located in the heart of Miami Beach’s Art Deco District, The Wolfsonian – FIU is a museum dedicated to exploring how art and design have shaped, and continue to shape the modern world. Known for its collections of propaganda, architecture, and industrial design, the museum invites visitors to think critically about visual culture. Two standout events on the calendar include participation in the Miami Beach Culture Crawl on July 17 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., which offers free guided tours as part of a citywide art walk, and Beyond the Pages: World’s Fair Edition on August 8, which will showcase rare artifacts and examine the utopian ideals of past World’s Fairs.

Cauley Square Historic Village

Founded in 1903, this village is home to over 19 small businesses. With antiques, picturesque gardens, and cultural events, this village is a great summer spot for either visiting alone, with friends or with family. Some of their shops include Therapia by Aroma; they’re a family-owned business of handmade and 100% natural skincare products. Their perfumes go for around $20 and their soap bars $8.
For those who like older things, Karol’s Antiques offers a curated collection of kitchen and dining antiques. And at Jimmy’s Bright Ideas & Antiques, the owner handcrafts home decor made from repurposed antique and thrift finds.Another spot is Tree of Life Holistic, which offers alternative and holistic services like massages, Reiki healing, tarot readings, meditation and yoga classes.

Among the most popular spots at Cauley Square is The Tea Room. They have Victorian inspired tea rooms with antique china, and traditional English tea service are among the most popular spots of the village.
A cup of coffee starts at $2.50, and their sandwiches start $3 for a grilled cheese, while their most expensive is $18 for their “Montecristo” sandwich, which includes turkey, ham & Swiss cheese, and Challah Bread topped with powdered sugar. Their salads start at $6, and their soups range from $5 to $6. An afternoon tea service is $40 per person, which includes sandwiches, desserts, scones and a small pot of tea. They also offer vegetarian and pescetarian options.

Vizcaya Museum and Gardens

Built in 1916, this Village State turned into a museum with beautiful gardens offers summer events for free, or at low cost. Either by simply exploring the state or enjoying their summer events, Vizcaya Museum and Gardens is one of the best hangout spots for locals. This summer, you can create an accordion-style book with their free Bookmaking Workshop. They also have a Farmers Market that will operate from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on select days of the month. Another activity is their Sunday Wellness Classes, which will occur every Sunday from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. for $5. At a similar price, they offer Guided Tours of the Historic Vizcaya Village for $6 from 11 a.m. to 11:30 p.m.
