Podcast fans prefer watching episodes, not just listening (includes video story)

Many consumers now prefer to watch their favorite podcasters instead of listening to them.

“Podcasts really started off as audio, but visual has really taken over,” says Margarita Salas, a multi-platform strategist who works at Florida International University. “I think people are looking all the time on streaming anywhere tablets, phones, computers, your own tv screen.”

Many are happy that social platforms such as Spotify are implementing video-based content.

“I think that platforms such as Spotify implementing video-based content is very beneficial,” says Matt Ladino, an automotive enthusiast. “It’s better for me to see content rather than hear it.”
