President Joe Biden met with the European Council President Charles Michel and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen at the NATO summit on Tuesday.
Biden eased tensions with the European allies over trade disputes and gained support to tackle global challenges.
“The fact that you’re coming so early in your mandate, I think underlines your personal attachment to Europe, and we really appreciate that,” said von der Leyen. “Europe has changed, but we wanted to reassure your friends and allies are very much looking forward to working together.”
The President also discussed Russia along with economic and social matters before today’s meeting in Geneva with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
