Pro-Trump group keeps protesting in Tropical Park

Wearing red MAGA caps, waving flags and cheering, a pro-Trump group has turned Tropical Park into a rally every Saturday morning since 2016 to show their support for the president.

Now they’re supporting the president’s efforts to overturn the election, and they don’t plan on stopping.

About 40 members of Cubans for Trump originally started coming out to rebut the anti-Trump protests that began when the president took office.

Mauricio Garcia, 47, the organizer of the group, went door to door, encouraging Trump supporters in Westchester to rally behind the president’s agenda.

Although President-elect Joe Biden has already begun his formal transition, they draw attention to what they see as voter fraud, alleging that up to 10,000 people who no longer live in Nevada voted there and that election workers in a Georgia county improperly intermingled ineligible ballots with valid ones.

The protestors are adamant about the president pursuing every avenue possible to continue his legal fight.

“He has every reason to push back,” said Garcia. “And he should do whatever’s necessary to expose what’s going on.”

However, their claims have already been debunked, even by one of Trump’s loyalists, U.S. Attorney General Bill Barr, who told the Associated Press that the Department of Justice found no evidence of widespread voter fraud that would impact the outcome of the 2020 presidential election.

But the group has committed themselves to backing the president, even after the Supreme Court rejected a challenge by the Trump campaign to reverse Pennsylvania’s certification of Joe Biden’s victory in the electoral battleground, effectively ending the president’s chances of overturning the election.

Lisandra Villanueva, 54, believes it is important to let others know that they will not allow Biden supporters to steal the election.

“We will stay out here every day if we have to,” she said. “Until we get the actual election results, Trump is my president. Not Biden.”
