Regal Cinema on Lincoln Road is here to stay (includes video story)

The historic Regal Cinema on Lincoln Road has been a cornerstone of Miami Beach entertainment since 1936. Earlier this year, it was on the brink of closure due to tough times for the movie theater industry.

It was on a closure list with almost 40 other theaters across the United States.

Employees at Regal shared that they never thought the theater would close and did not fear for their jobs; however residents of Miami greatly feared the loss.

“I was miserable,” said Christopher Bush, a Miami local who lives on the mainland. “It’s my preferred theater… I might pass a few theaters just to come here.”

In addition to showing a diverse selection of films, including classics and the latest releases, the Lincoln Road theater has become more than just a place to watch movies. It has transformed into a cultural hub, hosting special events, exclusive premieres, and collaborating with local artists and performers.

Fast forward to today, and you can feel the energy and excitement in the air. The Regal will hopefully welcome residents and travelers alike for decades to come.
