Exotic animal lovers gathered this past weekend at the South Florida Fairgrounds for Reptilian Nation Expo, an annual event where attendees got the opportunity to meet and purchase thousands of unique reptiles, amphibians, arachnids and more.
Over 10,000 visitors attended the event, making it one of the largest in South Florida. The isles were full of excited animal fans that quickly filled the venue.
At the expo, there were not only exotic animals for purchase such as black head pythons and red-eared sliders, but also everything you need to care for pets including enclosures, heat lamps, decorations and live pet food.
There were also up close and personal performances with crocodiles, alligators and more.
“My favorite thing that I saw here today was a rhinoceros iguana,” said Leona Sweeting, an expo attendee from Delray Beach. “He was just sitting there on the shelf. He did not look very real but he was indeed real and didn’t move very much but once you got close to him and saw that he was real, it was like, ‘Oh my gosh he is actually real.'”
The show heads to Salt Lake City on April 5 – 6. Find out more at ReptilianNationExpo.com.
