North Carolina fears more damage this weekend after Hurricane Helene’s high winds (includes video story)

High winds forecasted for this weekend have left North Carolina residents worried about more damage. Leaning trees are a concern after thousands of dollars were spent by homeowners after Hurricane Helene. The money was used to repair damage done in September of last year.

Neighbors in Henderson County, near Asheville, say this hazard has affected their homes and livelihood.

Janet Link, one of the affected residents, claims her neighbor’s roof is now being repaired from a tree that fell during storm. Link also explained there are multiple heavy trees that have been leaning since the storm.

“A limb… could fall and kill someone easily,” said arborist Dale Epperson.

Residents are being expected to pay $2,000 to have the dangerous trees removed. Trees falling were one of the main reasons why power outages spread across the states most affected by Hurricane Helene.

Trucks from Duke Energy are prepared for the case. The comapny urges residents to text their hotline and report their power outage.
