Riders find community through motocross at Miami MX Park (includes video story)

Riders from across the country traveled to South Florida for the fourth race of the I4MX motocross series, a 12-race competition held at tracks throughout Florida. The Miami MX Park, Miami’s only motocross and dirt bike course, is a family-owned track that has operated for 16 years.

The event attracted both experienced riders and beginners, highlighting how motocross brings people together beyond competition. “Everybody knows each other. Everyone is just having fun,” said part-owner Gisselin Borrego.

Jake Robinson, a rider who has attended every race in the series, traveled to Miami for the event. Another participant, Giuseppe Hidalgo, flew from Canada after his uncle in Miami encouraged him to try the course. Despite knowing little about motocross and only riding a dirt bike three times before, Hidalgo decided to participate.

“Yeah, why not?” Hidalgo said when asked why he joined the weekend race.

The event demonstrated how motocross can connect people regardless of age or skill level. From longtime riders to first-time participants, Miami MX Park continues to build a community centered around racing, outdoor activities and shared experiences.
