A road rage incident in Fort Myers was caught on cellphone video, showing two drivers taking turns ramming into each other on a busy road.
Kaylee Taylor, who filmed the encounter while in the car with her brother and young son, said it started with one car swerving before escalating into repeated collisions.
“At first it was swerving and then they started taking turns hitting each other,” Taylor said. “So one would hit the other car, the other one hit each other and back and forth, back and forth. My brother got on the phone with 911 at that point.”
Her brother, Jacob Taylor, described the moment as shocking and unsettling.
The Taylors say they immediately called police, fearing the situation could spiral out of control. Witnesses described it as a clear case of road rage, but Fort Myers police say the incident is still under investigation. Because neither driver involved wanted to press charges, no arrests have been made and no tickets have been issued at this time.
Jacob Taylor says there’s no doubt in his mind what he witnessed.
“It was definitely a like road rage incident,” he said. “I even got a video too of the cars hitting each other.”
Kaylee added that it’s unlike anything she’s ever seen up close.
“Normally when people road rage, it’s a little bit of back and forth and never gets that far,” she said. “That’s something you see on the news. And then for this to have actually happened in front of me, terrifying.”
She hopes the video serves as a warning for other drivers to think twice before letting anger take over behind the wheel.
