Alyssa Venable, a 23-year-old suspect in the deaths of her three roommates in their Virginia home, is being firmly sought after by Virginia police. The residents of the peaceful town of Spotsylvania are uneasy following this tragedy.
“You’ve got to be kidding me,” said Gary Boxley, a county resident, who was surprised to hear the information about the violence a few minutes before coming home from work. Given that Boxley and his neighbors live a few blocks from the crime scene, their worries about the area’s safety have grown.
With the involvement of federal authorities, the hunt for Venable has been more intense. Deputies visited her residence and found a graphic discovery, leading to the filing of three second-degree murder counts and charges related to firearms. The fact that the victims—two men and one woman—were all of her roommates added to how upsetting the murder was.
Even in light of how serious the incident was, Boxley maintains his composure. “I’m fully aware this stuff happens everywhere and nobody is immune to it,” Boxley said, making it clear that he had no intention of leaving the area in light of the event. The town is still on edge as they try to find the dangerous and armed woman.
