Kids on autism spectrum find community at local charter school (includes video story)

Serving Miami-Dade and Broward counties, South Florida Autism Charter School (SFACS) focuses on supporting students on the spectrum with communication challenges, behavioral difficulties and self-help training needs.

The school has been a pillar of the community for more than 16 years, delivering tangible results. Students have demonstrated impressive advancements in their communication and cooperation abilities, and there has been a notable reduction in behavioral challenges — paving the way for brighter futures.

“SFACS is community, SFACS is family,” said Dr. Tamara Moodie, the school’s principal. “SFACS is any and everything that you can think of that anyone wants for a child with special needs.”
