Sideline: College Athletes get paid, England wins Women’s Euros, and Intermiami unveils their new kits

A new executive order from President Donald Trump could impact student athletes at schools across South Florida.

The women’s England National Football Teams beat Spain in the 2025 Women’s Euro Final.

Inter Miami F.C. played against Cincinnati F.C. at Chase Stadium, while unveiling their newest Jersey, and newest player Rodrigo De Paul.

Esteban Rodriguez is a Senior majoring in TV/Broadcast media. He is a producer for Caplin News and the creator of FIU's Sports show, Sideline. He hopes to pursue this path of producing for sports or general news.

 

Julien Lescano is a junior majoring in digital communications and multimedia broadcasting. Born and raised in Miami, Julien has had a fond love for the world of broadcasting since he started high school, and hopes to pursue a career in political/sports journalism. He is also a lifelong soccer fan.
Sabrina Lozano is a Digital Communications in Media student at Florida International University, specializing in digital journalism and media with a focus on sports. She is passionate about storytelling and aspires to share compelling narratives that inform, engage, and inspire her audience.

Warren Okoinyan is a senior majoring in communications.  He is very passionate about sports, specifically basketball. After he gets his degree, he is hoping to become a sports reporter or a sports content creator.

Dylan Pezet is a student at Florida International University studying Digital Communications and Broadcast Media. He joined Caplin News in the Spring of 2024 in hopes of improving his TV-production craft so that after graduation he may be able to get a job with the NHRA as a track reporter/announcer.

My name is Alejandro Hernandez, I’m sophomore at FIU planning to major in Sports Media. After I complete my Bachelors, I wish to pursue a career in covering sports such as the NFL, NBA, and European Soccer.

Nicolette Esper is a fourth-year, first-generation college student studying digital broadcasting with a focus on sports journalism. With a passion for sports, Nicolette aspires to work in the sports media field with hopes of becoming a sports broadcaster.
