Sideline: Marchand to Florida, International Women’s Day Soccer match and Boxing in Hialeah 

The Florida Panthers shock the hockey world by pulling Boston Bruins captain Brad Marchand from his team of 16 years. 

Fort Lauderdale hosts a women’s soccer match for International Women’s Day. 

And a new boxing league in Hialeah hosts its twentieth fight

Esteban Rodriguez is a sophomore majoring in TV/Broadcast media. He is a producer for Caplin News and FIU's Sports show, Sideline. He hopes to pursue this path of producing for Sports Networks and/or Hollywood in the Film Industry.

 

Anthony Cruz is a sophomore majoring in Digital Media and Communications. A first-generation Cuban American, Anthony has been interested in local news since high school and hopes to pursue a career in reporting politics. He is also a lifelong South Florida sports fan.

Sabrina Lozano is a Digital Communications in Media student at Florida International University, specializing in digital journalism and media with a focus on sports. She is passionate about storytelling and aspires to share compelling narratives that inform, engage, and inspire her audience.

Mia Florian is a digital communications and media major at Florida International University. She is a passionate and determined individual who aims to deliver accurate and entertaining information. Bilingual in English and Spanish, she understands the power to connect with diverse audiences. 

Dylan Pezet is a student at Florida International University studying Digital Communications and Broadcast Media. He joined Caplin News in the Spring of 2024 in hopes of improving his TV-production craft so that after graduation he may be able to get a job with the NHRA as a track reporter/announcer.

Emilie is a senior majoring in Digital Media and Communications and minoring in Social Media and E-Marketing Analytics. She has a focus in digital interactive media and is interested in joining the media industry on the business side. Following her graduation, she plans on obtaining a master’s degree and working at a marketing or advertising agency.

Nicolette Esper is a fourth-year, first-generation college student studying digital broadcasting with a focus on sports journalism. With a passion for sports, Nicolette aspires to work in the sports media field with hopes of becoming a sports broadcaster.
