South Florida is under yet another heat advisory this morning as temperatures remain firmly in the upper 80s, with today’s heat index reaching 101 degrees.
Tropical activity, including the dissipation of Saharan Desert dust and an area of interest identified by the National Hurricane Center, will bring much-needed rain over the weekend and into the following workweek.
The area of interest has a 20% chance of development over the next seven days. Regardless of its development, rain chances remain elevated throughout both the World Cup bronze match and the World Cup final, with a 30% chance of rain on both days.
Today’s high will be 89 degrees, with a 40% chance of afternoon thunderstorms. Partly cloudy conditions are expected tonight, and the low will be 82 degrees.
Next week’s highs will remain in the upper 80s to the lower 90s, while lows stay in the lower 80s. Rain chances will gradually decrease throughout the workweek.
