Stamped exposes Miami to African music and culture (includes video story)

Stamped, created by DJ Aya, is an event series that celebrates African music and culture. Held once a month at the Arlo Hotel rooftop in Wynwood, the parties run from 5 to 11 p.m. and expose people to musical genres like Afrobeats and Amapiano.

African musicians and DJs often play live. The parties create a space for the African American community to come together and celebrate diversity.

The parties have been a hit in Miami, which is home to many nationalities. Afro-Latinos, Afro-Caribbean and African Americans reconnect with their heritage through the arts.

“Over here, everyone comes to have a good time,” said Mycheal, an attendee. “Let the bad vibes wash away.”

The last event was held June 21. The next one is planned August 4. Keep an eye on Instagram and Event Brite for details.
