On Feb. 7, FIU’s Lee Caplin School of Journalism & Media brought together current and former students to showcase their mini-documentaries at the Sam Moore Theater.
Beverly Muzii, the event coordinator, expressed her excitement about the event’s potential to spotlight student work. “As a coordinator and journalism major myself, I thought it would be amazing to get some of the journalism students in here, and we have the space for it.”
Her vision for the event was to create an opportunity for students to gain exposure and connect with others who share similar interests and passions.
The showcase featured a wide range of student documentaries, from investigative deep dives to personal stories. After showing each production, the student filmmakers answered questions and received constructive feedback from the audience.
For students like those featured in the showcase, the event emphasized the importance of creative expression and provided an encouraging space for FIU students to grow as filmmakers and journalists.
