Tampa is turning purple to celebrate the arrival of BTS, a K-pop band who are kicking off the U.S. leg of the “Arirang” world tour at Raymond James Stadium on April 26.
The South Korean group will perform three shows, with more than 60,000 fans expected each night. Visitors are traveling from all over, selling out hotels and restaurants, and bringing a major boost to the local economy. The concerts are turning the city into a lively and crowded destination.
Local businesses are hosting BTS-themed events and offering purple drinks, desserts, and limited-time menu items inspired by the group.
“BTS is a really big part of my life,” said Nouisa Gernach, a fan from Germany that attended their South Korea concert. “I feel like they’ve helped me overcome a lot of fears.”
