For years, the national teacher shortage has been a major issue in schools across the nation. The issue has now reached Florida, the state hitting a new record in vacancies with no end in sight.

“The teacher shortage has mostly had an impact on students,” says Adam Bernstein, a teacher at a Dade County magnet school. “The impact it has on schools and teachers, it’s creating more work for other people, making lessons for classrooms that don’t have a teacher.”

Gloria Selva is a working professional and part-time student who is currently pursuing a B.S. in Communications with a concentration in Digital TV and Multimedia Production. She is focused on advancing her creative abilities and communication skills through formal education and practice. Her ultimate goal is to combine her media expertise and passion for humanities into a career in Television Broadcasting.
