Weekly night market brings good food, music and hangs to Pembroke Pines (includes video story)

Looking for a new evening hang? Look no further than The Night Market at Pembroke Lakes Mall.

Held every Thursday from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m., the bazaar is held outdoors in the shopping center’s overflow parking lot and creates the perfect ambiance for attendees to mingle and eat good food against a backdrop of lively music. Food trucks such as Boca Burgers, Flavor House Grill, Fye Stars and Damn Mama Catering are regular features.

“We like the choices, and everybody’s laid back,” said Peter Grant, who recently started attending The Night Market with his daughter, Alexandria. “And it’s Thursday, getting ready for the weekend so … that’s why I do it, for the ambiance.”

Brandon St. Gerard, an employee at Damn Mama Catering, who attends every week, shared that the eatery’s most popular menu items are fried pork shoulder and black musrooom, also known as griot and djondjon.

“We serve almost every known Haitian dish,” said St. Gerard.

For those interested in visiting The Night Market, parking is free and near The Night Ritual.
