Caplin News debuts its first entertainment segment, “The Scene,” to keep audiences up to date on everything happening in the world of entertainment.
This brand-new segment covers topics ranging from the film and television industry to music and pop culture. It highlights trending topics, celebrity headlines, and the latest releases.
“The Scene” will bring more entertainment news into our regular newscast, Newsbreak. It will also give students interested in entertainment reporting a chance to gain experience and practice their skills.
This segment’s launch marks a new step in the expansion of our show’s content and its connection with a wider audience.
“The Scene” will air every Friday on Newsbreak.
Valeria De Souza is a sophomore at Florida International University, majoring in Digital Communication and Media, with a focus on digital TV and multimedia production. She is passionate about storytelling and hopes to pursue a career in broadcast journalism, working at a news station to help share impactful stories within the community.
Paola Sirignano is a Senior majoring in Digital Broadcasting and a reporter/anchor for Caplin News. She plans to pursue a career in the entertainment industry as a TV host or multimedia journalist, covering breaking news and the biggest events in music, film, television and fashion while connecting with diverse audiences through her bilingual storytelling.
Olivia Martinez is a junior at Florida International University in pursuit of her Bachelor's degree in Digital Journalism. She is interested in a career reporting on entertainment media, culture, and human interest stories.
Adrian Diaz-Alejo is a senior at Florida International University pursuing his second bachelor's in Digital TV & Multimedia Production. He specializes in editing and technical skills for videos and graphics, focusing on the construction and delivery of a scene. Passionate about entertainment media, he aspires to be part of it as an editor or producer, bringing the craft and creativity to audience and community.
Makaila Bain is a sophomore at Florida International University, majoring in Digital Communications and Media. As a Bahamian- American student, she has a unique perspective and understanding of what it truly means to tell stories. She wishes to share her passion for entertaining, to not only bring joy and a voice to those around her, but also to herself.
