The next seven days bring a return to our typical summertime weather pattern, with scattered to numerous thunderstorms expected each day.
Today, numerous thunderstorms are expected to develop across Miami-Dade and Broward counties during the afternoon and early evening before pushing west into the Everglades by sunset.
The strength of these storms has prompted the Weather Prediction Center to issue a Marginal Risk for excessive rainfall and localized flooding across South Florida. High temperatures will reach the low 90s, with heat index values climbing into the triple digits.
Another round of thunderstorms is expected tomorrow, following a similar pattern. The highest rain chances will be across the interior of South Florida. Afternoon highs will again reach the low 90s, with feels-like temperatures topping 100 degrees.
The heat remains in place through the seven-day forecast, but rain chances decrease to 40% beginning Friday. On the Fourth of July, expect scattered showers and storms between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m., with conditions expected to dry out before evening fireworks begin.
