Over the last few decades, cheeseburgers have become a staple food in the United States, and Miami-Dade County is no different. With so many different places in that serve high quality fare, it’s hard to narrow down a top five list. But here’s our take on the best.
Smash House Burgers

Located in North Miami, Smash House Burgers is a restaurant that specializes in its namesake, smash burgers. The décor both inside and outside is composed of brightly colored shapes and designs of burgers, spaceships, and even dinosaurs in a comic book art style. Smash House Burger is a kosher spot, so vegan cheese is to be expected, and it is quite good. The burgers range from $7 to $16. Some popular menu items include the 305 burger and the jalapeño burger.

6 Pack Burger is a kosher burger also located in North Miami. The shop had a recent change of ownership, but it still has the same great burgers that it always did. New management brings in new menu items. friend of the owner Gustavo Chame spoke about what new items are on the menu:
“The new owner is Argentinian so there are more Argentinian meals in addition to the burgers.”
“We are one of the few Kosher fast-food burger places in Miami,” Chame continued.
Prices range from $8 to $27.
Apocalypse BBQ

Wednesday, Thursday, Sunday: 11 a.m. – 9 p.m.
Friday and Saturday: 11 a.m. – 11 p.m.

While many small businesses were in the middle of closing during the 2020 pandemic, Apocolypse BBQ was opening its doors. With meals from $6 to $42, there is a wide range of food besides burgers. Something that sets this place apart from many restaurants is that there is no number to call ahead and the staff is very proud of their first-come, first-serve nature. Waitress Kathrine Funez spoke about the range of people that come to eat here.
“We are branding ourselves as the best BBQ place in Florida,” she said, “We have people come from the Keys and even Puerto Rico to eat here.”
Chefs on the Run

Chefs on the Run is a family-owned business in Homestead with a variety of different menu items and two entire pages dedicated to burgers. Burgers range from $13 to $23, and the most expensive dish is a $35 steak. Waitress Yasmin Solozono spoke on how owner and head chef Jodrick I. Ujaque was able to come up with so many unique dishes.
“It’s his bold taste buds,” she said, “The way he just comes up with ideas is very unique.”
La Birra Bar

La Birra Bar has an atmosphere that is immediately inviting, with Argentinean flags and various sports imagery decorating the walls, you can immediately tell who they’re rooting for. Burger prices range from $13 to $30. Bartender Martina Cistillo was able to comment on all of the Argentinian Imagery around the place
“It’s part of our culture,” she said.
The love of soccer is evident as there are Lionel Messi jerseys on the walls and even a burger named Messi 10 GOAT featuring an upside-down bun.
