Top five listening bars in Miami

Audiophiles have found a place in Miami with a vinyl record renaissance and high quality sound system focus, a place where you can go to escape the chaos of Miami and immerse yourself into the magic of analog music.

Listening bars are a concept that originate from 1950’s Japan where post-war sentiments called for safe spaces to share music and culture intimately. A global resurgence of these bars once focused on jazz, now host DJ’s and genres from every wave on the spectrum. For those looking for cozy ambience, a place to discover new discography and great date night spots, here are five of Miami’s best soundroom bars, most specializing in vinyl.

1. Dante’s HiFi
519 NW 26th St.
Miami, FL 33127
Tuesday – Sunday: 7 p.m. – 2 a.m.

A real life imitation of the fictional jazz bar in Haruki Murakami’s novel South of the Border, West of the Sun, the intimate, warm and acoustic Dante’s Hifi opened in 2021 and became the first vinyl record bar in Miami. Decorated with conversation-pit style couches you could melt into, the cozy establishment is set up with a state-of-the-art sound system that expands the warmth of analog sound across the venue. Its iconic Ladies Night every Wednesday hosts an all-women line up of DJs. Make sure to make reservations on Fridays and Saturdays as tables get sold out, and the dance floor gets so packed that the dancing spills to the outside plaza. This is where you take your date, your friend or yourself and let loose.
