One of the largest and most modern facilities in Doral, Legacy Park boasts several dedicated pickleball courts with top-tier amenities. The perfect hotspot for enthusiasts, it offers not only state-of-the-art facilities but also events through the Doral Pickleball Club. According to Franklin Reyes, director of the club, Legacy was the venue for the “Pickleball For Venezuela” fundraiser, where sponsors successfully raised funds to send essential supplies like medicines and toiletries to communities in need. This park not only serves players of all levels but has become a hub for pickleball activities.

Glades Park is the newest addition to Doral’s pickleball scene, featuring a modern and clean environment for play. Although the courts are newly opened, the park is already hosting events, including the upcoming women’s pickleball tournament on October 19 to celebrate and empower health, strength, and community. Organized by the Doral Pickleball Club, these events highlight the place’s role as a vibrant community hub. The peaceful ambiance makes it an excellent choice for both casual games and small tournaments.

Morgan Levy Park has been a long-time favorite in the Doral community, featuring four dedicated pickleball courts. It is known for its welcoming atmosphere with regular meetups for beginners. The shaded seating areas and nearby facilities make it a convenient spot to relax and enjoy a few games. Eugene Fernandez is one of the supervisors at Morgan Levy and is constantly noticing the large crowds that the park draws. 

“Morgan Levy has been a hotspot for pickleball for the longest time,” he shared. “It has the perfect space to enjoy a good match.”

The new pickleball courts at Tamiami Park have drawn a large crowd of enthusiasts ranging of all ages. From teams who are competing in competitions to couples who enjoy working out, the courts have been a success based on an influx of people ready to play. The popularity of these specific courts at Tamiami Park escalated when players learned that they can make reservations by paying to play on their own courts. By charging a rate to use the court, this allows the park to maintain and uphold the standards of the courts in order for them to be proficient as well as allowing the players to not worry about securing a court when they arrive to play pickleball. With a majority of the courts being used most of the time, Tamiami Park also offers a variety of pickleball courts throughout the park on a first come first serve basis.

Ruben Dario Park has created a well-established community revolving around recreational activities for over 18 years, including tennis courts that can now be transformed into pickleball courts. Based on pickleball’s increase in admiration, the park has been able to keep up with the trends by including two mobile pickleball nets. These nets have the ability to convert the already-rooted tennis courts into another lively sport. These multi-purpose courts allow large or small groups of players to play at once due to its easy accessibility.

Brianna Mantaras is a junior majoring in Digital Journalism. After graduating, she wishes to pursue a career in the entertainment field to inform communities about the local news.

 

Stefanny Tenia is a junior pursuing a degree in digital broadcasting with a minor in marketing and advertising. She aspires to be a news anchor for a television network. She is passionate about media and current events, actively working to refine her communication skills for that future role.
