Traffic stop goes viral after deputy cites driver without right hand (includes video story)

A Palm Beach County traffic stop goes viral after body camera footage shows a deputy accusing adaptive athlete and influencer Katie Thomas of driving while holding a phone in her right hand, despite the fact that she does not have a right hand.

In the video, the deputy tells Thomas, “You drove past me holding a phone with your right hand,” to which she responds, “Obviously not.”

Thomas later shared the footage on Instagram and TikTok, where it receives millions of views and sparks widespread discussion online.

Court records show the $116 citation is later dismissed because of a lack of evidence.
