On Feb. 16, dozens of protestors gathered at Tropical Park in response to President Donald Trump’s flurry of executive actions targeted at immigration.
His administration’s orders to revoke former President Joe Biden’s Temporary Protected Status extension for Venezuelans and humanitarian parole program have directly affected large populations of Miami-Dade County.
Despite the fear that many are currently experiencing, demonstrators said it was important for a community that includes many immigrants to fight back.
“We know at this point that immigrants are under attack,” said protestor Paul Christian Namphy. “So what do we do? Stand up and fight back. That’s what we’re here for.”
