Trump fumes against charges in post-indictment speech at Mar-a-Lago (includes video story)

In a historic arraignment, former president Donald Trump is currently facing 34 felony charges of falsifying business records.

Yesterday, hours after Trump pleaded not guilty in a New York City court, he returned to Mar-A-Lago and delivered a fiery speech to his supporters.

In his speech, Trump lashed out at the Manhattan district attorney, the judge in the case and the indictment itself while denying any wrongdoing.

“I never thought anything like this could happen in America. Never thought it could happen. The only crime I have committed is to fearlessly defend our nation from those who seek to destroy it,” said Trump.

According to the Manhattan district attorney’s office, Trump, along with his former personal lawyer Michael Cohen, and the former CEO of American Media Incorporated, David Pecker, allegedly engaged in a scheme to suppress negative stories about Trump to influence the 2016 presidential election.

The next time that former President Trump is scheduled to appear in court is in December, roughly two months before the official start of the 2024 Republican presidential primaries.
