Trump issues 10-day ultimatum to Iran to reach a new nuclear deal (includes video story)

President Donald Trump ramped up pressure on Iran Thursday, warning of serious consequences if Iran refuses to agree to a new nuclear deal within the next 10 days. Speaking from the White House during the inaugural meeting of the newly launched Board of Peace, Trump made his position clear: “Bad things will happen if it doesn’t.”

The Board of Peace is a U.S.-led initiative aimed at fostering stability across the Middle East, particularly in post-conflict regions such as Gaza. During the event, Trump announced that the United States will contribute $10 billion to the board’s efforts, with an additional $7 billion coming from allied nations. Five countries have also pledged to send troops and police units to help rebuild and secure Gaza over the next three years.

“What we are doing is simple peace,” Trump declared.

Despite the event’s peace-focused theme, tensions with Iran dominated the discussion. Trump reiterated that “they can’t have a nuclear weapon,” underscoring that the U.S. stance would remain firm. The administration gave Iran up to 15 days to comply with tougher nuclear restrictions, backed by a rapid military mobilization in the region. The USS Abraham Lincoln aircraft carrier strike group has reportedly moved into position, signaling that the U.S. is prepared to enforce its ultimatum if necessary.

“If they don’t join us, that will be great too,” president Trump said. “But it will be a very different path.”
