Miami officials prepare for crowd and environmental safety ahead of Ultra (includes video story)

With thousands of people expected to gather in Downtown Miami for the 2025 Ultra Music Festival this weekend, Miami-Dade officials are ramping up safety measures ahead of the event. At a press conference held earlier this week, members of Miami-Dade Fire Rescue, the Miami-Dade County Police Department, and Ultra representatives discussed emergency preparedness and crowd safety.

“Hydration is very important,” said Lt. Pete Sanchez of of the county’s fire rescue team. “There’s going to be hydration stations throughout Ultra where you can fill your water bottles and drink plenty of water, because it’s going to be hot.”

Besides personal safety, the festival is also taking steps towards environmental safety. In collaboration with organizations like Clean Miami Beach and Debris Free Oceans, the event holds a yearly pre-shoreline cleanup that removes up to 1,000 pounds of trash.

As Ultra Music Festival celebrates its 25th anniversary, officials hope both attendees and organizers stay safe, responsible and mindful of their impact on the local community and ecosystem.
