On March 12, FIU students participated in a Venezuelan Salsa Night at the Graham Center. The event was funded by the Student Government Association and brought music, dance and culture to campus. Led by instructor Cindy Guzman, students of all experience levels joined in to learn and participate.
Guzman showed the crowd basic salsa steps, giving students a chance to follow along and try it themselves on the dance floor. Traditional Venezuelan food was also offered.
The event was organized by student leaders, including FIU’s Venezuelan Student Association president Camila Melinkoff, who helped plan and lead the activities.
“We wanted to share a little bit about our country with other nationalities,” Melinkoff said.
