Between Two Worlds: Exploring the Venezuelan crisis in the United States (includes documentary)

Venezuela, once a nation full of promise, has ended up in deep political and economic turmoil under leaders Hugo Chávez and Nicolás Maduro.

“Fabrizio González,” an Florida International University student and former TPS holder, has quite a story. So does Gustavo García Jr., whose father served as a Venezuelan general. José Antonio Colina, a former militia member, now leads an organization, Venezolanos Perseguidos Políticos en el Exilio (Veppex), to help Venezuelans in exile. Finally, Dr. Eduardo Gamarra, a political science professor who breaks down the bigger picture.

Together, their voices paint a clearer picture of why Venezuela is where it is today, how U.S. policies like TPS revocation affect real people, and why tensions between the two worlds continue to grow.
