Between Two Worlds: Exploring the Venezuelan crisis in the United States (includes audio story)

Episode 1: Daniel

In this episode of Between Two Worlds, host Alejandro Marquina explores how the Venezuelan crisis continues to affect thousands living in the United States. Following the U.S. Supreme Court’s 2025 decision to lift protections under Temporary Protected Status (TPS), many Venezuelans now face the fear of losing their legal footing and future stability.

Alejandro speaks with Daniel, an FIU student who shares how TPS gave him opportunity and hope—but also left him living in constant uncertainty. Through Daniel’s story, listeners gain a human perspective on how politics and policy directly shape immigrant lives. The episode closes with a call to empathy and awareness for those still fighting to build a life between two worlds.

Episode 2: Adelys Ferro

In this episode, we sit down with Adelys Ferro, Executive Director of the Venezuelan American Caucus, to discuss the fight to protect Venezuelans affected by the possible termination of Temporary Protected Status (TPS). Ferro breaks down what recent legal decisions mean for thousands of families living in the United States and why she is pushing for collective action to defend their future.

She shares her unwavering commitment to the Venezuelan cause, advocating for migrants here in the U.S. while staying connected to the struggle for democracy, freedom and human rights in Venezuela. This conversation highlights not only the legal battle but the people and purpose behind it.
