Weather 9/18/26

An upper level low will cause the next seven days to have some of the highest rain chances South Florida has seen all year.

TODAYS FORECAST

Numerous thunderstorms are expected to develop across Miami-Dade County by this afternoon, before moving northwards towards Broward County by this evening. These storms will then push westwards out over the Everglades by late evening. Due to these numerous storms, there is an isolated threat for flooding. Rain chances across the region will be in the 60-70% range. Temperatures will peak in the mid to upper 80s.

WEEKEND FORECAST

On Saturday, another round of numerous thunderstorms are expected to develop across southeastern Florida by the evening and may be slow moving. There is an isolated threat for flooding once again. Rain chances will be in the 70-80% range.

On Sunday, expect even more storms, as rain chances will be in the >90% range across the area.

NEXT WEEK FORECAST

For the remainder of the 7-day forecast, expect widespread thunderstorms each day with rain chances in the 80-90% range. In total, Broward, Miami-Dade and Monroe Counties could see 6-10 inches of rain, which would make a significant dent in our drought. Throughout the week, highs will be in the mid 80s.

TROPICS UPDATE

An area of interest is being monitored way out in the northeastern Atlantic with an updated 60% chance of developing. The system is expected to remain out to sea and well away from us.
