As Argentina prepares for the FIFA World Cup Final, the Argentine Consulate in Miami celebrated the country’s football culture through an exhibition combining photography and film.
The event, titled Argentina in a Goal, featured Argentine photographer Gastón Liberto’s Camino de D10S, a collection of photographs documenting murals honoring football legends Diego Maradona and Lionel Messi.
Visitors also viewed four micro-documentaries made by students from the Universidade Blas Pascal — No nos gusta el futbol, Muchachitos, Argentina busca contarse and La Sobremesa — each exploring how football shapes Argentine identity and everyday life.
For organizers, the exhibition was about more than the sport itself. Through art and storytelling, they hoped to show how football has become woven into Argentina’s history, traditions and sense of community.
With Argentina set to face Spain in Sunday’s World Cup Final, the exhibition served as a reminder that, regardless of the outcome on the pitch, the country’s passion for football continues to inspire artists, families and fans around the world.
While the exhibition in Miami lasted only one day, its journey is far from over. Organizers plan to bring it to 10 cities around the world, with Japan as its next stop.
