For one night only, Latin-Grammy award winning artist Yandel performed with the Florida International University Symphony Orchestra on Tuesday to promote his newest album, “ELYTE.”

Part of a new collaboration between FIU’s Wertheim School of Music & Performing Arts and Warner Music Latina, hundreds of thousands of fans tuned into the live stream on Twitch to watch this incredible show that combined reggaeton and classical music.

The Wertheim School of Music & Performing Arts’ curriculum exposes students to first-hand experiences like this one, where the Puerto Rican artist also announced an ELYTE scholarship to support the next generation of musicians.

“What better way to learn your craft as a musician than to be mentored by Yandel,” said Brian Schriner, the dean of the College of Communication, Architecture, and the Arts at FIU.
