Chasing The Hit: Young adults struggle with nicotine dependence (includes mini documentary)

Recent health findings have found that nicotine use and addiction is rising.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, one in four college students uses e-cigarettes.

“Where I work, we see a lot of young kids coming in with what we call pleurisy, which is inflammation of the lung lining that is directly related to vaping,” said Dr. Susie Manjarrez, a nurse practitioner and nursing professor at Florida International University.

Counseling services are available on campuses as well as the nicotine national helpline (1-800-784-8669).
