Maryland athletic director fired for racist AI recording of school principal (includes video story)

A former high school athletic director in Baltimore County, Maryland has been arrested for creating an AI-generated impersonation of local school principal Eric Eiswert. The voice recording was marred by racist and anti-semitic comments.

Dazhon Darien, 31, faces multiple charges by the Baltimore County Police Department for the clip. He first denied involvement, but authorities have since connected the email that sent the audio file to his grandmother’s home in Los Angeles. Eiswert was fired as a result of the recording.

“As you can imagine, this has been a very difficult time for the Pikesville High School community, principal Eiswert, his family, and team BCPS,” said county superintendent Dr. Myriam Rodgers.
