Blue Beetle fans rave about Latino lead (includes video story)

Superhero fans were excited to see DC Studios’ first Hispanic superhero in “Blue Beetle,” the newest DC movie.

Fans in Miami got to watch the film at a special premiere last week.

“I’m excited for Latinx representation in mainstream cinema and superheroes,” said Nick Crell, an audience member at the screening.

The movie’s director, Angel Manuel Soto, is Puerto Rican.

“It’s the first time that we not only have a Latino actor in front of the camera but that he’s the titular character,” Soto said. “We’re Latinos telling our stories.”
