FIU students had a rare opportunity to meet with their Ukrainian counterparts in an online event to learn about their journeys through the war.
The event, hosted last Thursday by The Tuesday Times Roundtable and the Office of Global Learning Initiatives, helped bring the South Florida community closer to those impacted by the war in Ukraine.
“The FIU community has a better understanding of what the Ukrainian immigrants are going through, what they feel about the war and about their lives, and what we can do to support them,” said Dr. Hilary Landorf, assistant vice president and executive director of The Office of Global Learning Initiatives.
More events like these are on their way. The students intend to keep creating more opportunities to spread awareness and understanding.
