The Homestead Speedway is selling race tickets for college students at $25 for this weekend’s race.
The Homestead Speedway has been the home of NASCAR since 1995 in South Florida. This track has had a history with the community for over 27 years.
“This just continues the vision of our leadership,” said Al Garcia, president of the Homestead Speedway.
The NASCAR Cup Series race day is on Sunday, Oct. 22 at 2:30 p.m. Spectators can enjoy Larry’s Hard Lemonade Beach Bash, which provides beach access from the field, water activities and a live DJ.
Daniela Zulueta is pursuing her master’s degree in global strategic communications and graduated from FIU with a bachelor’s degree in digital broadcasting in 2023. She also holds an associate’s degree in journalism from Miami Dade College. Zulueta loves the city of Miami and aims to share the stories of the citizens who live here and all over the world. Zulueta runs a social media platform called @Lifestyle_Miami where she works with local businesses and does community-based work. She had a paid internship with Televisa Univisión as a Step Producer and worked as a stage manager at NBC6 South Florida & Telemundo51. Now, she is part of cohort 8 and has a fellowship at the FIU Ratcliffe where she can work on branding herself and post-production of a podcast called Tech Conversations.
Kenneth Bueno is a junior majoring in the Digital Broadcasting field. He is a sim racing commentator for Podium eSports and aims to apply his love for sports into the sports broadcasting industry after graduating.
Esteban Rodriguez is a sophomore majoring in TV/Broadcast media. He is a producer for Caplin News and FIU's Sports show, Sideline. He hopes to pursue this path of producing for Sports Networks and/or Hollywood in the Film Industry.
